#5 Cheapest way to reach Maafushi

Hello Viewers We went to Maldives during Jan 2019 to celebrate new year & 1st birthday of our son (Ayaan) to the country of islands Maldives. So it was our 2nd day at Maldives and after spending our half of the life in a jam packed city #Bangalore we didn't wanted to spend time at #Male so we decided to catch the 10am ferry to #Maafushi, we finished our breakfast at 8am and started walking towards the Villingili Ferry terminal, yes the distance was not easy to walk with luggage in hands.

Ferry cost was 240 INR/ 3.25 USD/ 53 MVR. It was a good experience talking to the ferry captain Ibrahim and he made me understand how they judge the sea route and reach to the destinations.

#4 Airport Ferry to Male City

Hello Viewers We went to Maldives during Jan 2019 to celebrate new year & 1st birthday of our son (Ayaan) to the country of islands Maldives. Now we were out of the airport and we were looking for the ferry point to catch ferry for #Male. The ferry point is 100 meters from the departure gate towards the right side. Ferry tickets are available at the counter (watch video to see the ticket counter) worth 45 INR/ 10 MVR.

Huluhmale to Male ferry duration was 10 mins and then we walked to our hotel named as Clover House booked thru booking.com for 89 USD per night with complementary breakfast.

Maldives is a expensive country and the food are costly too and on the other side if a vegetarian  is travelling to countries to Maldives then it would be tough days. As my wife (Sweta) is a pure vegetarian so we carried some ready to eat food items from #India (Explained in the video).

Coming to the most important point which we considered was budget so our 1st day expenses was 6,505 INR / 1,370 MVR/ 92 USD.

#3 India to Maldives

Hello Viewers We went to Maldives during Jan 2019 to celebrate new year & 1st birthday of our son (Ayaan) to the country of islands Maldives.


So finally the day 29th December has come to start our journey from #Bangalore to #Male. We were so excited that we started early from home and spent good amount of time at the airport lounge (Thanks to IDFC bank for lounge access).

We opted for #AirIndia to reach #Maldives which costed 32k for 2 adult and 1 toddler. The said flight was scheduled to depart at 2.30 PM and land at 3.45 PM at Male.


The on board meal was really nice (Watch the video for food details and review), before 15 minutes of landing we were astonished looking at the turquoise color sea and the green color islands. Flight landed on time at #Hulhumale airport and we proceeded towards the immigration.


Immigration process was the simplest I have ever seen, we just filled the given form at airport and handed over the form and #passport to the immigration officer and without any delay he stamped out passport.

So finally we reached Maldives

#2 Why filmed Maldives?

Hello Viewers We went to #Maldives during Jan 2019 to celebrate new year & 1st birthday of our son (Ayaan) to the country of islands Maldives.


In this video I explained why I thought of shooting our Maldives travel experience, I use to see Maldives photos on web before 6-7 years and I felt in love with the natural beauty of Maldives.

But being a working professional I always failed to plan for Maldives looking at the expensive budget. The package from any travel agency was nothing less than 1-1.5 lacks INR, for me investing 3 lacks for Maldives tour with family was only possible in my late night dreams.

Then I carried on my research on Maldives and from lot of blogs and videos I found that 95% travelers came to Maldives and preferred to have a luxury tour like travelling on speed boat which is 100 USD per ride and staying at a water villas worth 150 USD per night, this was not a tea bag for my cup as I always prefer to plan my itinerary on my own considering my budget.


Coming to the left over percentage of travelers who were actually backpackers traveled and solo travelers to Maldives, they were superb as they managed their cost fabulously by camping on the beach, sleeping as the football ground.. but but but in my case it was not possible as I am travelling with my wife and 1 year kid.


So coming to the point in my next videos I will show if someone is planning for #Maldives with their #family within a certain #budget, ignoring #water villas and exploring the local #Maldives, ditching the #speed boat and opting the local ferry like the localities, managing cost of food, what to bring while coming from #India.

#1 Why we selected Maldives?

 Why we selected Maldives as our new year destination? 

We got our son (Ayaan) on 4th January 2018 so it was the 1st birthday for Ayaan on 4th Jan so we thought of planning a holiday so that we can celebrate the new year and Ayaan birthday at a interesting destination. We thought of few hill station like #Manali and #Auli but our boy was below a year old so bearing the December cold weather would have been difficult for him. Coming back to the beach destination #Goa was something like we knew all the streets around as we been to Goa 4 times. Mind gave a option towards #Thailand, but being #December it would be too crowded and we were looking for a calm and quite destination. I have a regular habit of surfing travel app on my phone, suddenly I caught airfare of #Bangalore to #Maldives for 15,000 INR by #AirIndia. Air fare was quite cheap but as per the internet world Maldives was one of the expensive destination looking at the country accommodation and travel, on the other side my heart was pulling me towards the turquoise sea water for which I had a dream to visit long back.
